The Polytechnic University of Milan is an institution in the field of technology, science and research not only in Lombardy but throughout Italy and the world; for this reason we are particularly proud that Compass Group has chosen our Food Locker for the management of the university canteen of this leading reality of the Italian educational scene.

Compass Group is a British multinational foodservice company, one of the largest in the world; it deals with catering in offices, companies, hospitals, large sports and cultural facilities, schools and universities including, of course, the Polytechnic University of Milan.

The need of this university institute was to be able to offer to the student population a more flexible solution to use the canteen service: we therefore installed in collaboration with our partner Ricoh a compact refrigerated Food Locker integrated with the mobile app “Fresh & Natural” of Compass Group that allows you to book meals and pick them up independently at the Locker.

Those who wish to use the canteen service, therefore, can use the dedicated app: first they book a cell and, if necessary, also the time interval in which to make the pick-up; in case of unforeseen circumstances, again through the app, it is also possible to cancel the reservation.

The app then allows the user to book the desired meal among those proposed; the chosen alternative is prepared and delivered by Compass directly to the University Food Locker and – once the lunch has been placed in the cell – a push notification is sent via app to the recipient who can pick up the lunch box using the QR code provided by the same app to open his cell.
